I - The Quiet is Never Empty

A world that keeps living when you look away.

Stillness in Celestial Fall is never silence. The world continues to breathe, grow, and change - you decide what role your character plays in the journey.

Living Ecosystems

Animals migrate, hunt, breed, scatter, bond, age, and die within the same world players inhabit. Ecology is not a backdrop; it is one part of a world that keeps moving.

Climate and Seasons

Weather, seasons, terrain, roads, and regional resources shape what survival looks like from one place to another.

Decay and Renewal

Food spoils, bodies decay, danger spreads, resources shift, and new life has to be cultivated before old stores run out.

Persistent History

There are no clean resets for a lived life. Choices leave marks on people, places, families, and the stories others remember.

II - From First Breath to Last Light

Live a character's life, not just a campaign.

A character can grow into a trade, love badly or well, become known for mercy or violence, raise a family, age into limitation, and leave behind more than equipment.

  • Bonds and RivalriesFriendship, courtship, marriage, oaths, grudges, and trust are written between characters.
  • Family and ContinuityChildren, kinship, homes, letters, and reputations give a bloodline shape and impression.
  • ConsequenceChoice leaves marks on bodies, settlements, relationships, and the stories others tell.
  • LegacyWhat you do can quite literally affect history - all roles lead to the future, which mark will you leave behind?

III - Hands, Roads, and Steel

Interlocking systems, not isolated mechanics.

Interlocking systems give roleplay teeth. Crafting, projects, skills, combat, animals, relationships, and travel all feed the same persistent world.

Persistent Traits

Tags apply properties to just about everything in the game, including your characters and their skills, prioritizing role-centered play rather than min-maxing levels.

Crafting

Using your skills, you'll be able to pull out and activate traits in the resources that are in your items. There is no best weapon, but there's a right weapon for the job! Custom crafting also allows some suspicious concoctions...

Travel

Movement carries risks and rewards, but it should never be boring - roads are places of adventure, where you may discover new locations, animals, biomes, places to hide, or secret paths.

Conflict

Choose combat strategically - you can't fight alone! No single person can cover all their weaknesses, but band together and you have the potential for war, igniting combat zones which can disrupt the nodes which they spread to. The inhabitants have to choose their actions wisely, just as the combatants do!

Skills

A star points system, not tied to projects but alotted daily for you to apply as desired allows you freedom to roleplay the scenes that matter without feeling like you're missing out on experience gain.

Relationships

Kin, animals, rivals, allies, and communities give every system a reason to matter, a reason to stick together, or a reason to fued!
